Job Description

Nkhamenya Community Hospital is a Catholic Health Facility of Mzuzu Diocese. It operates under the Health Commission of the Diocese whose mandate is to ensure that the health services that the Catholic Church provides in the Diocese are accessible to the rural masses and the quality of care being provided is in line with the professional standards and in the footsteps of Jesus Christ the founder of the healing ministry.

Position: ClinicaTechnician-Grade K   – 2 Positions

Duties and responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervise staff under him/her in daily work of cleaning wards and giving drugs to patients as prescribed;
  • Order drugs and ensure that they are properly used and that dangerous drugs are properly recorded and guarded.
  • Diagnose patient’s problems and prescribe treatment;
  • Select patients for review by senior medical officer on his/her routine visits and send urgent cases for senior medical officer’s actions;
  • Prepare work schedule and monthly returns of patients and staff;

The candidate must possess the following attributes:

  • Be a practicing Christian.
  • Applicants must be in possession of a diploma in Clinical Medicine obtained from recognized University/Institution, and be a registered member of the Medical Council of Malawi.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work during odd hours.
