Job Description

St. Andrew’s International Primary School is seeking to appoint an excellent for a Class Teacher position within our Academic Staff, and to begin on 1 September 2021.


This important teaching position will require the successful candidate to exhibit the following characteristics:

• Fully qualified teacher status (Internationally recognised).
• A minimum of two years teaching experience in the delivery of a British-style.
• A positive personal ethos and a proactive approach to education in the British-style.
• The ability to plan and execute high quality lessons, resulting in excellent attainment for children of all abilities.
• The ability to work as part of a team in the delivery of a world-class education.
• The willingness to work hard and collaboratively to achieve the aims and objectives of the school as a whole.
• The willingness to adapt to change and new initiatives as and when they arise.
• The ability to act as a role model for all our children and junior members of staff.
• The personal drive to expand good teaching practice outside the boundaries of our school, in line with the school’s ambitious vision.

The Role

In this role the candidate will be expected to deliver a high quality, modern style of teaching that encourages children to develop their soft skills as well as build on their knowledge and attainment from previous years through secure and comprehensive planning, and the ongoing monitoring of individual attainment.

Looking beyond the boundaries of the school, the successful candidate will also be committed to sharing good practice with other schools, and developing a high personal profile in the education community within Blantyre and the wider community in Malawi. In short, growing the reputation of St. Andrew’s so that we become synonymous with excellent educational development in Malawi.
