Job Description

NICO Holdings PLC, the first company to list on the Malawi Stock Exchange, is a financial services Group whose core business is in Insurance, Pension Administration Banking and Asset Management. The Group seeks to recruit a dynamic professional to lead NICO Capital Limited, an investment and financial advisory company a wholly owned NICO Holdings Plc subsidiary under incorporation . The suitable candidate must be a mature, astute and a very experienced hands on individual to provide overall strategic leadership and direct the new company to achieve growth and sustainability.

 
 
Position: Chief Executive Officer


Scope and Key responsibilities:

Reporting to the Board, the successful candidate’s key areas of responsibility will include the following:

  •  Strategic Management of the company Develop and periodically review the Company Strategic Business Plan.
  •  Company Performance and Control Development of the Company income budget based on the performance targets agreed the Board.
  •  Team Management Build a strong team of professionals and monitor staff on a on-going basis, to identify and agree key performance areas, key objectives/tasks and action plans.
  •  Stakeholder Management Manage all strategic key stakeholder relationships of the company
  • Key expertise required by the successful candidate

Successful will be expected to demonstrate a proven track record in the following fields and abilities:

  •  Ability to professionally carryout project Appraisal and capital raising- debt and equity.
  •  A deep understanding of advisory services on IPO’s.
  •  Ability to conduct due diligence reviews, capital adequacy assessments, capital structure and mergers and acquisitions.
  •  Ability to conduct business valuations.
  •  Ability to conduct Infrastructure Project Finance and Feasibility Analysis
  •  Ability to prepare business and feasibility plans, financial projections, capital plan and strategy reviews, functional reviews, company restructuring , business modelling and business analysis.
  •  Accountability
  •  Overall achievement of the Company goals and objectives.
  •  Acquisition and retention of key clients and partnerships for the company.
  •  Renewal and update of all Operating Licences.
  •  Strategy formulation and implementation.
The ideal candidate must have the following levels of Experience. academic , professional 
  • Qualifications and Attributes:

    • Masters- degree in business, Finance, Financial Services Economics. or equivalent or Professional Finance/Accounting qualifications like CFA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
    • Having an ACCA, LIMA. or CFA and a Professional Finance Qualification would be desirable.
    • Have ten to twelve (10-12) years in a senior position.
    • Be proactive and a self-starter.
    • Have a good understanding of Corporate Finance principles and practice.
    • Have strong analytical skills.
    • Have excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Knowledge and experience of Public Private Partnerships(PPP’s) will be an added advantage.
