Job Description

Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) Malawi a locally registered NGO since 1996, with the mission to promote social and economic development by implementing projects within health, education, community development, agriculture & food security, fund-raising and environmental programs.

An opportunity has risen for interested applicants to fill in the existing vacant position of Cashier at its Head offices in Blantyre Chileka.

Position: Cashier


Purpose of position

To ensure that records of all cash disbursements and Cash receipts as well as Cheque payments  records are kept and available at any time.


Terms of Reference

Reporting to the Finance Manager/Officer, The Project Cashier’s main tasks include and not limited to:

  • Preparing of payment vouchers.
  • Issuing of project cheques to beneficiaries.
  • Carry out bank Transactions.
  • Maintain cheque register for all issued cheques
  • Disbursement of cash or refreshments during trainings and meetings.
  • Proper filing of finance documents including payment vouchers.
  • Reviewing of all project supporting documents for authenticity before attaching them to relevant payment vouchers
  • Collect quotations for all items or services that are being procured


Required Experience Skills and Qualifications

  • Certificate in Financial Accounting, those with Diploma will have added advantage but not a MUST
  • Knowledge of Microsoft word, Outlook and Excel
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • High level of integrity and honesty
