Job Description

MASM, one of the nation’s leading organization in the Health Insurance sector, is looking for a qualified and experienced BUSINESS MANAGER for its Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Division.



Position: BUSINESS MANAGER


PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Responsible for Coordinating, planning and directing operations of the MASM Ambulance Service to ensure and enhance performance, productivity and profitability.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and recommend EMS program Goals and objectives.
  • Develop and manage the EMS annual budgets through monitoring expenditures forecasting funds and identifying funding sources.
  • Investigate complaints on contract performance issues.
  • Oversees emergency vehicles, equipment, and supplies inspections for contract compliance.
  • Administer the statistical analyses of response time data to evaluate system effectiveness; prepare oral and written reports; coordinate communication on audit reports.
  • Answer questions and provide information to the public including letter writing, proposal development and making formal presentations.
  • Recommends, develop and implement program and policy changes relating to EMS.
  • Assist, represent and advise Executive Management on issues related to EMS.
  • Application of EMS Knowledge and expertise in program oversight including knowledge of up-to-date trends, technology, regulations and laws.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

  • Principals and practices of Emergency Medical Services, Program operations and budgeting.
  • Principles and practices of Project Management, Contract administration and user agency coordination.
  • General Medical Services, terminology, equipment and systems.
  • Modern administrative methods and procedures, business correspondence and report preparation, statistical analysis and evaluations.


Ability to:

  • Coordinate a comprehensive EMS program throughout the country
  • Respond, resolve and coordinate resolution of different and sensitive citizen inquiries and complaints about the service.
  • Apply critical thinking, problem solving and collaborative approaches to improving services.
  • Analyze situations thoroughly, identify potential problems and find effective solutions.
  • Interpret and apply administrative and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain positive professional working relationships with staff and the public.
  • Effectively communicate and express ideas both orally and in writing.
  • Prepare and present written correspondence, reports and materials in clear, correct and comprehensive terms from general roles and concepts.


Educational Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Emergency Management, Emergency Response or related field.
  • A Masters Degree in a related field may substitute for some of the required experiences.
  • Three years of progressively responsible Emergency Management and or Emergency
  • Medical Services, including Project Management
