Budget, Risk & Compliance Manager

Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the following vacant position at MANEPO’s Head Office in Blantyre:


Reporting to the Country Director

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Review activity budgets with programmer managers to ensure donor budget compliance
  • Develop and oversee systems to prevent and deal with any deviance to internal financial management and procurement policies
  • Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously
  • Keep abreast of evolving best practices regarding donor compliance standards and controls

Core Competencies
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Proven experience on budget, risk and compliance issues at a senior management level
  • Good experience in managing big donors like USAID, Irish Aid, DfiD and EU
  • Excellent computer and communication skills
  • Proven commitment to accountability practices
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English

Academic and professional qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting from a reputable institution
  • Certificate in Risk Management
  • At least more than two years’ experience working with an NGO.
