Job Description

BLANTYRE HIV PREVENTION PROJECT JULY 2020 – JUNE 2025

INTRODUCTION

The National AIDS Commission (NAC) was established in 2001 with a mandate to coordinate and provide leadership in the implementation of the multi-sectoral response to HIV and AIDS Furthermore, the Commission has the overall responsibility for performance monitoring and evaluation of progress in the implementation of the National Response by the key stakeholders (implementing agencies) which include:

  • Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies
  • Civil Society Organisations; and
  • Private Sector Organisations at the national and district levels In 2018, the Commission became an ‘independent state institution’. established under the HIV and AIDS Prevention and Management Act of 2018, which reaffirms its original mandate.
