Job Description

The National Oil Company of Malawi (NOCMA) whose main objective to ensure security of fuel supply in Malawi is a wholly owned Malawi Government Company established under the Company’s Act of 1984 on the 10th December 2010 and commenced its operation in 2012. NOCMA is responsible tor managing the Country’s million liters Strategic Fuel Reserves situated in Blantyre, Lilongwe and Mzuzu; and smaller depots in Chilumba, Chipoka and Mchinji.

Over the past eight (8) years, the Company has grown tremendously in its national strategic importance with its fuel importation market share growing from ten percent (10%) in 2015 to an average of sixty percent (60%) in 2019/20 and this has been matched with growth in Institutional capacity and investments to enable efficiency and effectiveness in executing its mandate.

In its drive to censure improved and sustained efficiency and effectiveness in delivery of its mandate. NOCMA is seeking to recruit qualified and experienced candidates to fill various highly rewarding positions that have arisen within the Company.

Job Title : Assistant Distribution Officer



Grade : NOC7


Department : Distribution Section


Reporting to : Distribution Officer


Responsible for : None


Purpose of the Job :

To assist in facilitating the distribution of petroleum products from NOCMA Depots to customers


Key Roles and Responsibilities


  • Assisting in managing incoming orders from customers
  • Assisting in generating orders in the Company’s Operating System
  • Managing orders in the Company’s Operating System
  • Assisting in facilitate incoming fuel processes form suppliers
  • Managing outgoing fuel from fuel reserves


Minimum Qualifications and Work Experience


  • Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management ,
  • At least two (2) years’ work experience at that level in a busy environment


Additional Skills and Abilities


  • Advanced skills in the use of most Microsoft packages.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
