Job Description

Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Malawi (BCM-CFM) is a not-for-profit organization working in partnership with the Malawi government in the health sector. Our Mission is to provide high-quality, high-impact, highly ethical pediatric and family-centered health care, health professional training and clinical research, focused on HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, malnutrition and other conditions impacting the health and well-being of children and families worldwide.

The Baylor-Tingathe program was designed in 2008 to respond to suboptimal uptake of PMTCT and pediatric HIV services in Malawi. The program seeks to support Malawi in reaching the ambitious UNAIDS 95-95-95 goals, by improving the identification of HIV-positive persons, timely treatment initiation, and long-term engagement in care.  The program is funded by USAID, and is currently operating in 7 districts in Malawi. Baylor-Malawi is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of:

Job Tittle: Assistant Data and Program Officer

Reports to:       Program Coordinator – Prevention and Adolescents

Position Description:              

Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator: Prevention and Adolescents, the Assistant Data and Program Officer will be responsible for managing data systems and supporting program implementation


Data Management

  • Assist with coordination and management of data for various programs
  • Ensure data is collected from programs’ staff on time – perform completeness checks
  • Teen Club attendance, Psychosocial Reports, Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Trainings, Exit Interviews and other data as needed
  • Clean and input data and send any queries to staff who sent reports
  • Create quizzes in Survey CTO and Google Forms and perform completeness checks and score
  • Compile and share reports

Program implementation

  • Conduct exit interviews for clients accessing care and treatment services. Compile results and present reports in timely fashion to program leadership
  • Manage psychosocial referral system on WhatsApp groups
  • Provide logistical support to the psychosocial and Teen Club programs


  • Maintain and foster good team communication and uphold professional standards as outlined in the HR manual
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as delegated


  • Expertise in Google and Microsoft Office Suite. WhatsApp required, experience with Survey CTO and other social media platforms a plus
  • Ability to develop / maintain databases
  • Experience in planning and monitoring activities
  • Self-motivated, team player and ability to work under minimum supervision
  • Strong skills in oral and written English and Chichewa


Golden Peacock Office in Lilongwe with frequent field work. Weekend work will be required.
