Job Description

Holy Family Mission Hospital (HFMH) is under Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM) under the Archdiocese of Blantyre of the Roman Catholic Church. It is situated in the south eastern part of Malawi, north of Mulanje Mountain in Phalombe district. It was founded in 1960 by the Medical Mission Sisters of Holland. Holy Family Hospital is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacant position.

Job Title: Anaesthetic Clinical Officer (Grade I)

Responsible to: Medical Officer

Responsible for: Managing Anaesthesia Department

Duties:

  • Manage the department of anaesthesia as in charge;
  •  Supervise and evaluate all anaesthetic technician below his/her grade;
  •  Ensure that staff on duty is sufficient;
  •  Ensure that staff members attend clinical meetings and refresher courses to update themselves;
  • Manage critically ill patients in HDUs/ICU;

Qualifications

Applicants must be in possession of a bachelor’s degree in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine. Or serving Senior Clinical Technicians (Grade I) in possession of a Diploma in Clinical anaesthesia and intensive care medicine with more than four years experience.
