Its work covers Agriculture, Health, Environment, Natural Resources Management, Economic Empowerment and Humanitarian Response.

Assemblies of God Care now seeks to recruit for the following position:


Position: Agribusiness & Marketing Coordinator

Reporting Lines

The Agribusiness & Marketing Coordinator will work under the overall supervision of Project Manager.

Technical Focus

The Agribusiness & Marketing Coordinator will provide technical support to TRANSFORM Program portfolio. S/he will facilitate and support marketing of different vegetable value chains across 3 districts.

Tasks and responsibilities

Specifically, the Agribusiness & Marketing Coordinator will:

  • Undertake market research and analysis on horticultural value chains across 3 districts including demand and supply  assessments;
  • Provide support in the preparation and delivery of training modules for value chain development and business modelling;
  • Support on capacity and need assessment of the incubators and collection centres;
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen the marketing system;
  • Facilitate calculation of gross margin analysis of different value chains
  • Identify technical, social, governance and financial gaps required to bring various vegetable value chains to scale
  • Collaboratively work with incubators/groups to develop 3-year detailed implementation plans and activity-based budgets for set of value chains
  • Identify, evaluate and prepare/expand the business case for value chain for use to seek collaboration from private investors
  • Oversee implementation of activities that expand value chain and build market links for the projects
  • Identify and support capacity development of leaders within the communities needed to drive business results
  • Assist in the monitoring of the project results throughout their implementation
  • Identify and examine constraints and opportunities within the selected value chains, particularly:
  • Elements of the value chain that could or should be strengthened in order to develop strong linkages between farmers and market actors
  • Potential agri-business opportunities, food production system, and markets
  • Based on the value chain analysis, provide recommendations, indicating specific activities, responsible institutions and timelines of (inter alia):
  • Capacity-building requirements of the beneficiaries/groups (e.g. production, marketing, agri-business and entrepreneurship)

Required qualifications

  • First degree in Agribusiness/ Marketing or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
