Job Description

MANEPO is a consortium of Civil Society Organisations whose aim is to help older people claim their rights, challenge discrimination and overcome poverty, so that they can lead dignified, secure, active and healthy lives in Malawi.

MANEPO seeks to engage the services of:



Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a corporate Communications Strategy for MANEPO
  • Establish and maintain regular communication with stakeholders and partners
  • Disseminate accurate, reliable and relevant information to the public
  • Serve as MANEPO’s spokesperson and effectively manage media relations
  • Continually monitor and analyze groundbreaking news relating to older men and women both on the national and international scenes
  • Prepare talking points for the Board Chairperson/Country Director from time to time
  • Facilitate implementation of MANEPO’s Communication Strategy including its standardization and quality assurance
  • Manage documentation of case and digital stories for all MANEPO programmes

Academic Qualifications and Experience

  • The desired candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Mass Communications, Business Administration and Journalism with at least three (3) years experience in office management or public relations at a senior management level
  • Must be proficient in standard computer applications
