ACCOUNTANT JOB DUTIES
•Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information of Solarworks Ltd. •Documents financial transactions by entering account information in quickbooks and any other related accounting platform. •Reviews and analyses customer down payments, and instalments, ascertaining overdue accounts are reported for repossession. •Ensures revenue is properly booked by issuing invoices from quickbooks as soon as customers are installed. •Ensure fiscal receipts are issued. •Ensure inventory procedures are properly implemented by conducting periodic inventory counts and investigating and reporting discrepancies. •Ensure repossessed systems are properly booked in quickbooks and that there is proper record in the warehouse, with such inventory properly segregated. •Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures. •Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions. •Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information. •Secures financial information by completing data base backups. •Ensure bank reconciliation is periodically completed including any other cash reconciliations. •Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements. •Complies with local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions. •Maintains the fixed assets register, ensuring additions / disposals are properly updated and also that depreciation is properly calculated and booked. •Prepares financial information up to trial balance, ensuring journal entries are properly approved and posted, up to trial balance, ready for management reporting or financial reporting. •Accomplishes the result by performing the duty. •Filing tax returns with Malawi Revenue Authority. •Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. •Any other duties as assigned from time to time.
ACCOUNTANT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
•Accounting, Corporate Finance, Reporting Skills, Attention to Detail, Deadline-Oriented, Reporting Research Results, IFRS Rules, Confidentiality, Time Management, Data Entry Management, General Math Skills, Minimum Three to five years’ experience.
