Key Duties and Responsibilities

Presents and produces programmes

Conducts interviews

Plays music and commercials

Answers phone calls

Determines news and information appropriate for broadcast

Operates central equipment rack

Prepares newscasts and delivers them on-air

Writes and edits news copy

Adjusts transmitter power

Prepares and reviews public service announcements, underwriting announcements, pre-recorded reports and audio elements, newspapers, and program rundowns

Records commercials

Qualifications Experience, Attributes

Diploma in Journalism/Media Studies/Mass Communication from a reputable institution. A degree in relevant field will be an added advantage

At least four years’ experience in radio production

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Knowledge of old and vintage music

Good research and interviewing skills

Must have strong interpersonal skills

Ability to keep up with industry trends in the media landscape.
