Job Summary
Illovo Sugar (Malawi) plc, a leading producer of raw, refined, and specialty sugars with a workforce of over 9,000 employees, is inviting applications for the position of Safety Coordinator at our Nchalo operation. As a part of Illovo Sugar Africa Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Associated British Foods Plc (ABF), we are committed to excellence in all aspects of our operations.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
• Safety Inspections: Conduct routine inspections to promote and maintain a safe work environment.
• Incident Documentation: Record and close out incident and accident reports, ensuring proper documentation.
• System Administration: Manage SHERQ systems, updating files related to agriculture and factory processes to ensure compliance and currency.
• Support and Monitoring: Assist the Crop Production Manager with task risk assessments, data analysis, and compliance monitoring.
• Policy Compliance: Uphold Illovo’s policies and guidelines, including SHERQ standards, Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) protocols.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Education: Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) and a diploma in any tertiary or technical field.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years in health and safety or quality management.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with data analysis capabilities.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Chichewa.
